Moscow State University of Design and Technology or MSUDT - one of the oldest universities in Russia that prepares specialists in the light industry.
It was founded in 1930 as the Polytechnic Institute of the leather industry to train people in the skin and shoe sectors of light industry. Over the years of its existence, the name was changed several times. In 1980 he was awarded the Red Banner of Labor. To date, the University staff consists of 6,000 people. The work is conducted in a single thread as research and teaching. Every year is the publication of more than 250 articles on various subjects. Are constant publication of thematic collections of scientific papers. Ongoing training of doctoral students and graduate students in nine different specialties.

University Library - one of the largest specialized libraries located in Moscow. A very important aspect - the development of cooperation with foreign countries for the further establishment of the University of branches abroad. The campus includes a dormitory for students from other cities, several cafes, dining and recreation areas.
