National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" named after NE Zhukovsky

National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" named after NE Zhukovsky - is one of the leading educational institutions of the state of the USSR, now Ukraine which trains specialists in the manufacture and design of space and aviation technology.
Was founded in 1930 and originally had a two faculties - the motto and aircraft. At the time of inception in HAI was only 69 students and 12 teachers. Its development is very rapid. In 1932 he flew the first aircraft equipped with a chassis that developed teachers and diploma students of the institute. In 1935, the first home was designed by a turbojet engine. The development was interrupted by the Second World War, but in 1953 was built the wind tunnel, were working on the creation of jet burners which are used for drilling. Number of majors has been increasing. Over the years, the University has trained about 54 thousand engineers.
To date, the university enrolled 7,000 students and 160 graduate students, with about 700 teachers, 95 of them - doctors and professors of Science, 400 - professors and PhDs and more than 2,000 employees. The University occupies an area of ​​about 25 hectares in the forest area, which is located 8 blocks, 2 research institutes, scientific laboratories, library, campus, sports facilities, dining rooms, a dispensary.
